So who are we?

My name is Anthony Holland, managing partner of SkyArt Entertainment.  A resident Alberta boy, I have been shooting consumer fireworks since I was old enough to hold a match. My business partner and best friend, Jaroslav Bursik, came from the Czech and had never lit fireworks off until he met me.  Well, after a year or two of hanging out together, we became two guys who like everything about fireworks. In 2016 we started shooting consumer fireworks for small events, family reunions, block parties, and just because we were bored. We quickly found ourselves talking about how to make the shows larger, more refined, and even put them to music.  We also wanted to know how we could get our hands on professional fireworks. So, Anthony took the plunge and got his pyrotechnics special effects ticket. He quickly realized that was the wrong ticket for what I wanted to do but still cool as I could then shoot gibs and fountains while playing guitar in the park. I then contacted Alberta’s Fireworks Factory and got signed up for their display assistant course. Once I had it, I shot shows with the Fireworks Factory and received my Display supervisor ticket. Shortly after that Jaroslav took his display assistant and we have been setting up shows ever since.

Averaging between 5-7 shows a year, we continue to grow in our knowledge and passion for this art.  Anthony as managing partner finds the shows and looks after the money and legal components and Jaroslav has been our show designer.

Our typical show budget is around $ 5000 typically, but this past February we had the opportunity to design and shoot our first solo 10K. We have invested in Jarico Racking from Arch Angel Fireworks and have all fiberglass tubes. We have also invested in a Cobra Firing System.

May 2023 we travelled to Manitoba and took classes on show design, additional safety procedures and to see the latest and greatest products available to us.

We will continue to strive to make the next show better than the one before and give our customers a show they will talk about for a long time.

Now the Story Continues…

We are now licensed vendors and have works with importers to bring Alberta, Saskatchewan and BC the best product available while trying to keep prices competitive. It was a huge loss for Alberta’s own Fireworks Factory to shutting its doors in 2023, we hope we can keep their customers shooting and grow the Display Fireworks industry in the process.

Buying Fireworks..

The first question I hear from people is who can buy fireworks, and I always say what type of fireworks do you mean…

There are two main types of fireworks: Consumer also known as 1.4G fireworks, and Display fireworks also known as 1.3G.

Consumer Fireworks anyone over 18 years of age can buy, typically at a gas station or other store. They are low flying fireworks (not typically more than 50meters) limiting the risk of fire for the shooter.

Display Fireworks requires a display supervisor license with Natural Resources Canada. As these are high flying (upwards of 300meters) and have more total explosive power than consumer. These shooters have taken training and help put on shows with experienced supervisors in order to keep themselves and the public safe.
